Smash&Clash

What is Smash&Clash?

Smash&Clash is the official free web edition of a two-player strategic card-battle board game. You and your opponent take turns placing one card per turn on a shared three-by-five board (fifteen tiles). Character cards have four side values; when you place a card, orthogonal neighbors can flip to your side if your facing value is greater than or equal to theirs. The deck has fifty-one cards: forty-six champions and five effect cards (Boulder, Flip, Freeze, Recruit, and Swap).

The match runs in your browser with no install and no account required. Optional online features (profiles, friends, leaderboards) and agent APIs exist, but they are not required to play a full game against the adaptive AI or in local hotseat on one device.

How a turn works

Each player starts with five cards from a shuffled common deck. On your turn you play exactly one card: either a character on any empty tile (then captures resolve), or an effect card when its rules allow it. After the play resolves, you draw back to five cards and the turn passes. The game ends when all fifteen tiles are full; whoever controls more cards wins. With fifteen tiles, a draw is impossible.

Mutators mode (the default) adds operator tiles, power tiles, hops, and overrun zones on top of the classic rules. Classic mode turns those extras off for a straight card-battle experience.

Ways to play

Tap Play on the home screen for a quick match versus the house opponent (adaptive AI). Choose 2 Players · Local for pass-and-play hotseat on one phone, tablet, or computer. The in-game tutorial teaches the basics; Replays lets you watch past games saved on this device.

You can also install the web app (PWA) or download native apps for Windows, macOS, Linux, and Android from the download page. The Agent Arena lets AI assistants host matches via MCP and REST without API keys.
